Get a Predictable Bill Each Month with Level Pay

From month to month, your energy use changes and so does your energy bill. Both may go up or down with changes in the weather and your appliance use — and this month-to-month fluctuation can make budgeting a big challenge! We created the Level Pay program for customers who want a more predictable energy bill each month.

Level Pay automatically evens out the monthly highs and lows, so your energy bills are more consistent and you can budget more easily.

Here's How It Works

With Level Pay, we start with the average dollar amount for your last 12 SDG&E bills. You’ll be billed the same amount for the first three months, even if your energy use varies.

After that, your payment amount is adjusted once every three months, as we make adjustments based on your actual energy use.

You Aren’t Paying Any More, or Any Less

Even though your payments are evened out, the total amount you owe for 12 months will be the same. On each monthly bill, we’ll show you how much energy you actually used and the cost.

The Level Pay plan is free. Enroll online. Make sure you have your account number ready.

Customers Receiving Service from Other Service Providers

Customers receiving service from a service provider other than SDG&E, for example a Community Choice Aggregator (CCA) or Electric Service Provider (ESP):  Any charges provided by your CCA or ESP will not be included in your Level Pay amount.  Your service provider charges are due in full each month in addition to your monthly SDG&E level pay amount.
