Active CCA Providers

There are currently two Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) providers serving customers within SDG&E’s service territory: Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) and San Diego Community Power (SDCP). The map below shows the areas served by these CCAs.

Clean Energy Alliance

Clean Energy Alliance (CEA)

Background: CEA is a California Joint Powers Authority formed as a CCA to provide power to residents of the following cities:

  • Carlsbad
  • Del Mar
  • Solana Beach

2023 Expansion

  • Escondido
  • San Marcos

2024 Expansion

  • Oceanside
  • Vista

Service Launch Timeline: The city of Solana Beach began service in 2018 as the Solana Energy Alliance, and later joined the cities of Carlsbad and Del Mar in 2021 to form Clean Energy Alliance.

Beginning April 2023, CEA will expand to serve the communities of Escondido and San Marcos.

Net Energy Metering (NEM) customers will transition during their annual true-up month.

San Diego Community Power (SDCP)

Background: SDCP is a California Joint Powers Authority formed as a CCA to provide power to residents of the following cities:

  • Chula Vista
  • Encinitas
  • Imperial Beach
  • La Mesa
  • San Diego

2023 Expansion

  • County of San Diego unincorporated communities
  • National City

Service Launch Timeline: SDCP began service in the cities of Chula Vista, Encinitas, Imperial Beach, La Mesa, and San Diego to municipal and business customers in 2021. Residential customers transitioned during the first half of 2022. Net Energy Metering (NEM) customers transition during their annual true-up month.

Beginning April 2023, SDCP will expand to serve the unincorporated communities of the County of San Diego as well as National City.
