Current Community Choice Providers
There are currently three CCAs that have been or will be serving customers within SDG&E’s service territory: Clean Energy Alliance, San Diego Community Power and Orange County Power Authority. The map below shows the areas they serve.
Clean Energy Alliance (CEA)
Background: CEA is a California Joint Powers Authority formed as a CCA to provide power to residents of the following cities:
- Del Mar
- Solana Beach
- San Marcos
Service Launch Timeline: CEA began service to its customers in May 2021. Click here to learn more.

San Diego Community Power (SDCP)
Background: SDCP is a California Joint Powers Authority formed as a CCA to provide power to residents of the following cities:
- Chula Vista
- Imperial Beach
- La Mesa
- San Diego
- County of San Diego unincorporated communities
- National City
Service Launch Timeline: SDCP began service in the cities of Chula Vista, Encinitas, Imperial Beach, La Mesa, and San Diego to municipal and business customers in 2021. Residential customers transitioned during the first half of 2022. Net Energy Metering (NEM) customers transition during their annual true-up month.
Beginning April 2023, SDCP will expand to serve the unincorporated communities of the County of San Diego as well as National City.

Orange County Power Authority (OCPA)
Background: OCPA is a California Joint Powers Authority formed as a CCA to provide power to both SDG&E and Southern California Edison (SCE) customers in the following areas:
- Buena Park (SCE)
- Fullerton (SCE)
- Huntington Beach (SCE)
- Irvine (SCE)
- Unincorporated areas of Orange County (SDG&E)
Service Launch Timeline: OCPA will begin service to SCE customers in 2022.
In late 2023, SDG&E customers in the unincorporated areas of Orange County will begin service with OCPA.
