Scott Drury

President

Scott Drury is president of San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), one of Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities. Sempra Energy is a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services.

SDG&E is a regulated public utility that provides service to 3.6 million consumers through 1.4 million electric meters and more than 873,000 natural gas meters in San Diego and southern Orange counties.

Prior to his current role, Drury served as SDG&E’s chief energy supply officer since 2015. As chief supply officer, Drury was responsible for all aspects of acquiring energy and capacity to serve the company’s customers, including electric transmission, enterprise engineering, strategic planning, and generation and resource planning. Previously, he was SDG&E’s vice president of human resources, diversity and inclusion from 2011 to 2015. 

Prior to 2011, Drury was director of safety and emergency services and director of supply management for both SDG&E and SoCalGas. 

Drury joined the Sempra Energy family of companies in 1986 and has held various management positions at SDG&E in areas including emergency services, construction, and procurement and logistics.

Drury serves on the board of directors of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, The Edison Electric Institute (EEI), and the California Business Roundtable, as well as on the advisory council of Alzheimer’s San Diego.

Drury holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration and a master’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University. He holds a certificate in human resources and labor relations from Cornell University.

Caroline Winn

Chief Operating Officer

Caroline Winn is chief operating officer for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), one of Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities. Sempra Energy is a San Diego-based Fortune 500 energy services holding company whose subsidiaries provide electricity, natural gas and value-added products and services. 

SDG&E is a regulated public utility that provides service to 3.6 million consumers through 1.4 million electric meters and more than 873,000 natural gas meters in San Diego and southern Orange counties. 

Winn became chief operating officer of SDG&E in January 2017. Previously, Winn served as chief energy delivery officer, overseeing all energy delivery activities for SDG&E, including electric distribution operations and gas services, customer services, and external and state legislative affairs.

Prior to that, Winn was vice president of customer services and chief customer privacy officer overseeing all customer-related activities for SDG&E, including call centers, smart pricing program, energy efficiency, demand response and customer assistance programs, customer privacy, revenue cycle activities, electric rates and analysis, field services, corporate brand, marketing and customer communications.   

Since joining the company in 1986 as an associate engineer, Winn has held a number of leadership positions with SDG&E and Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas). Previously, she was director of supply chain management for both SDG&E and SoCalGas following her role as director of transmission and distribution asset management responsible for distribution planning, electric reliability, compliance management and information technology management.

Winn has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University Sacramento and is a registered professional engineer in the state of California.  

Winn serves on the Management Council and board of directors of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.  Winn also serves on the board of directors of the Western Energy Institute and the board of advisors for the UC Davis Energy Efficiency Center.

David Buczkowski

Vice President, Gas Engineering and Major Projects

David Buczkowski is vice president of gas engineering and major projects for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas), Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities.

As vice president of gas engineering and major projects, Buczkowski oversees gas engineering, gas operations staff and technical services, as wells as project management and construction. Buczkowski is also responsible for SDG&E and SoCalGas major projects, in addition to the project and construction management and project controls departments.

Buczkowski graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Jimmie I. Cho
Senior Vice President, Gas Engineering and Distribution Operations

Jimmie I. Cho is senior vice president of gas engineering and distribution operations for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities. 

Cho is responsible for all gas engineering, system integrity and distribution. In his previous role, Cho served as vice president of gas operations for SoCalGas and SDG&E where he oversaw all aspects of field operations including gas distribution, transmission, storage and system operations.

He also held prior roles as vice president of human resources, diversity and inclusion for SoCalGas; director of customer communications, research and web strategy; director of safety and emergency services; director of customer service field operations. He also held positions of increasing responsibility in environmental engineering, corporate affairs, gas operations and customer services.

Cho holds a bachelor's degree in geology from Brown University and a master's degree in civil engineering from Stanford University. He serves on the board of directors of Los Angeles Conservation Corps.

In addition to his tenure with Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities, Cho held positions with Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, a member agency of Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, as director of resource conservation and public outreach, and Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts in various environmental engineering roles.

Randall L. Clark

Chief Human Resources and Chief Administrative Officer

Randall Clark is chief human resources and chief administrative officer for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), one of Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities.

As chief human resources and administrative officer, Clark is responsible for developing and managing human resource policies, organizational effectiveness, staffing, employee communications, human resource service and analysis, and workforce readiness. Clark also oversees operations support and environmental services, and is responsible for all labor relations oversight, safety efforts and employee diversity and inclusion programs.

Clark graduated summa cum laude from Pepperdine University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He also graduated with honors from Duke University’s School of Law. 

Clark is a member of several bar associations, the Society of Human Resources Professionals and World at Work. He also serves as a trustee on the board of the La Jolla Playhouse, where he serves on the nominating committee, and as a trustee on the board of Francis Parker School, where he chairs the audit committee.

Diana Day

Vice President, Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance and Acting General Counsel

Diana Day is vice president, enterprise risk management and compliance for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities. Day also currently serves as SDG&E’s acting general counsel.

In her current role, Day is responsible for the policy, governance, structures, process, and guidelines for the companies’ risk management practices, and the interaction of risk management with asset and investment management. As acting general counsel, Day is responsible for all legal affairs at SDG&E.

Day holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. She graduated summa cum laude from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in economics.

David L. Geier

Senior Vice President, Electric Operations

David L. Geier is senior vice president of electric operations for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), one of Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities.

As senior vice president of electric operations, Geier is responsible for all aspects of electric transmission and substation operations, enterprise engineering and major capital projects.

Geier holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and power engineering curriculum from the University of Illinois, Urbana, and a master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer engineering curriculum from San Diego State University. He is also a registered professional engineer in California.

Geier currently serves on the board and is chairman of the American Red Cross of San Diego/ Imperial Counties.  He is on the Dean’s advisory board at San Diego State University and the University of San Diego, UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering Corporate Affiliates Program Executive Board and is a member of Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and a past chairman of the IEEE power engineering society of San Diego.

Bruce Folkmann

Folkmann is responsible for overseeing all of the financial planning and budgeting, energy risk management, financial reporting, treasury management and affiliate compliance for SDG&E and SoCalGas.

Folkmann graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston Honors College, receiving degrees in Accounting and Finance.  He is a CPA, and began his career with Arthur Andersen and a large multinational company.

Eugene “Mitch” Mitchell is vice president of state governmental affairs and external affairs for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and Southern California Gas Company.

Mitchell is responsible for state governmental affairs for both companies and oversees all external affairs activities for SDG&E.

Schneider holds a master's degree in business administration from George Mason University with an emphasis in finance and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Arizona.

Schneider is a member of the Advisory Board and Director's Circle for the Lamden School of Accountancy at San Diego State University. He also serves on the board of directors of the San Diego River Park Foundation, is chair of the industry advisory board for the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona and serves on the Eller College National Board of Advisors.

Rodger Schwecke

Senior Vice President, Gas Transmission and Storage

Rodger R. Schwecke is vice president, gas transmission and storage for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) and San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities.

As vice president of gas transmission and storage, Schwecke oversees transmission and storage system operations and also serves as the incident operations commander for the investigation efforts surrounding the Aliso Canyon gas leak. In his previous role, Schwecke served as vice president of customer solutions for SoCalGas, where he was responsible for customer programs and communications, eServices, account executives and the development of new emerging technologies, including clean transportation, distributed energy, in-home services and biofuels. 

Schwecke holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from California State University, Long Beach. He serves on the board of directors of the Discovery Science Center and Orange County Business Council.

Emily Shults

Emily Shults is vice president of energy supply for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), Sempra Energy’s regulated California utility.

As vice president of energy supply, Shults is responsible for all aspects of acquiring energy and capacity to serve the company’s customers. This includes long-term contracting for the company to reach its renewable portfolio standard mandate, as well as procurement of conventional resources. Shults also oversees economic dispatch of power plants, power trading, risk control and settlements.

Prior to this role, Shults has held numerous management positions at Sempra Energy.

Before joining Sempra Energy, Shults worked with the John Zink Company, Williams Energy Marketing & Trading, and Deloitte & Touche, LLP.

Shults holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tulsa.
