Why are drivers making the switch to EVs?

The San Diego region is home to more than 25,000 electric vehicles. There are many reasons drivers are making the switch:

  • Lower fuel costs.
  • All-electric cars have fewer parts which result in no oil changes and less maintenance.
  • Clean fuel, clean air.  Since all-electric cars produce zero emissions, this helps reduce greenhouse gases and improve air quality.  This is in addition to 43 percent of our region's grid which is made up of renewable energy, with no coal.
