NEVI Background

Administered and managed by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the California Energy Commission (CEC), the NEVI Program will fund the build-out of a network of publicly available electric vehicle (EV) fast charging stations along interstates and highways.

Eligible applicants can seek NEVI funding to install, operate and maintain publicly available fast chargers within CEC- and Caltrans-designated Corridor Groups. Among the 20 Corridor Groups identified as part of the deployment plan process, two encompass highways and interstates within SDG&E’s service territory. To learn more about the NEVI program, eligibility requirements and solicitation information, please visit the CEC’s NEVI Program webpage.
