The Cool Zones program for 2012 is now closed. Thank you for participating.
Cool Zones offer a place for people with special needs to escape mid-day summer heat and reduce air conditioning use, saving on energy costs.
Cool Zones are established by the County of San Diego Aging and Independence Services (AIS) and this year are open to the public from June 22nd - October 15th. They are located in senior centers and other public buildings.

AIS offers bus passes to limited-income seniors and persons with disabilities who don't have transportation to a Cool Zone site. Eligibility requirements must be met in order to receive a bus pass.
Limited-income seniors and customers with disabilities who don’t qualify for a bus pass may be eligible for a portable fan. Supplies are limited and restrictions apply, so please check with AIS for availability. You can call them at 1-800-510-2020 and press “6” or visit their website here.*
