You can save on this plan by reducing overall energy use or by shifting energy use to off-peak times. If you select this plan option before 7/28/17, you are grandfathered into the current time periods for 5 years from your Permission to Operate date. If you select a TOU plan after 7/28/17, then you will remain on current TOU periods until 12/1/17. At that point, you will move to new time period with on-peak being 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. (Pending CPUC’s Final Decision) Click here for an example scenario
Jane is an NEM 1.0 customer currently on a tiered pricing plan with a TOU period grandfathering expiration date of February 1, 2019. In July 2017, Jane changes her pricing plan from a tiered rate option to a new TOU plan. By selecting this option, Jane will have a new TOU plan with a peak period from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through January 31, 2019. When she reaches the grandfathering expiration date of February 1, her on-peak time period will move to 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
