Bill processing and payment

Here’s some information about when you are billed and when payments are due.

If at any time you are having difficulty paying your bill, please call us at 1-800-411-7343.

Residential

For residential bills, they are due upon receipt and past due 19 days after they are mailed.  The due date is shown on the bill in the right-hand side toward the top and directly under the amount due.

If your bill is unpaid by your next bill, you’ll receive a past due bill, which is pink, and you will have until the date shown on that bill to pay your past due amount. If you are not able to pay the past due amount in full, please contact us immediately to see if you qualify for an extension or a payment arrangement.

If your bill remains unpaid by the date on the second bill, you will receive a Final Notice Before Shut Off.  If this payment is not received on the past due amount within 48 hours of the date on this notice, your service may be shut off.  No SDG&E representative will visit your home to collect payment and shut off will likely happen remotely, so please contact us immediately if you receive this past due notice.

Business

For business bills, they are due upon receipt and past due15 days after they are mailed.  The due date is shown on the bill in the right-hand side toward the top and directly under the amount due.

If your bill remains unpaid by your next bill, you may receive a Final Notice Before Shut Off.  No SDG&E representative will visit your business to collect payment.  If payment is not received on the past due amount within 48 hours of the date on this notice, your service may be shut off.

If service is shut off, an SDG&E representative will visit your business to perform the shut off.
