Job Application Process

How to Apply

  • Careers website.  SDG&E accepts applications through our careers website. You can attach supporting documents such as resumes and cover letters via the application page.

  • Confirmation email.  You will receive an email from us confirming receipt of your application.  In the event you are selected for an interview or test session, a representative from human resources or the hiring department will contact you.

  • Application profile. We offer the option of completing an application profile without applying to a specific job.  Visit the careers website and submit a profile from the link supplied at the bottom of the page.

  • Work authorization.  SDG&E does not sponsor H1-B or F1-B visa holders at this time.  You must be authorized to work in the United States to be considered for employment.

Application Follow-Up

Due to our volume of applications, we are not able to follow up with every applicant.  However, in the event that there is an interest in your resume, a company representative will be sure to contact you via phone or e-mail.

All offers of employment at SDG&E are contingent upon candidates passing a background check and drug screen.  A background check will consist of the following:

  • Education Verification

Education Requirements

A candidate must have successfully completed and received their high school diploma or passed a General Education Development (GED) test.  Some of our positions do require four-year degrees and/or certifications.
