How do I apply?
SDG&E accepts applications online. You can attach supporting documents such as resumes and cover letters via the application page.
How do I follow up on the status of an application?
You will receive an email from us confirming receipt of your application. In the event you are selected for an interview or test session, a representative from human resources or the hiring department will contact you.
If I have not heard from anyone, what should I do?
Due to our volume of applications, we are not able to follow up with every applicant. However, in the event that there is an interest in your resume, a company representative will be sure to contact you via phone or e-mail.
I do not see a job that fits my qualifications. What can I do?
You can create a online profile.
If I am not currently authorized to work in the United States immediately without sponsorship, am I eligible to apply and/or be interviewed?
SDG&E does not sponsor H-1B or F-1B visa for new or current employees.
Does SDG&E perform background checks?
Yes. All offers of employment at SDG&E are contingent upon candidates passing a background check and drug screen. A background check will consist of the following:
- Criminal History Report
- Social Security Verification
- Motor Vehicle History Report
- Employment Verification
- Education Verification
What is the minimum education requirement to be considered for a position at SDG&E?
A candidate must have successfully completed and received their high school diploma or passed a General Education Development (GED) test. Some of our positions do require four-year degrees and/or certifications.
Is there someone I can speak to regarding special accommodations for the disabled?
Yes. A member of the human resources department can address any questions regarding special accommodations.

We recommend that applicants do the following prior to a phone or on-site interview:
