Eligibility and Conditions

Review program Eligibility and Conditions to determine if your project qualifies. New construction projects must:

• Commercial or multi-family residential projects
• New construction or major retrofit
• Greatly exceed California’s Energy Efficiency Standards
• Be sustainably designed – for example, either be
  • LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified by the US Green Building Council
  • Certified by California’s Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS)
• Consider renewable energy options

Letter of Interest

Sign a ‘Letter of Interest’ obtained from program representative. Contact us to determine if your project is a good candidate and that funds are available.

Design Team

Arrange for your design team to:

• Work with an SDG&E project manager to determine the best strategy to achieve energy performance requirement
• Obtain LEED certification
• Review renewable generation options for the project

Owner Agreement

Sign an ‘Owner Agreement’ to reserve funds for the project prior to construction

Incentive Check

Receive an incentive check upon successful completion and on-site verification. Upon project completion you will need to:

• Provide required documentation to the SDG&E project manager
• Schedule an on–site verification of energy-efficiency features
