How long have you worked at SDG&E?

Since 2011.

What do you like most about working here?

The people I work with are definitely at the top of the list for me. There is a culture of respect and friendliness at SDG&E, along with a strong work ethic and dedication to the community that makes coming to work an enjoyable experience. I also love working for a company that is such an integral part of the daily lives of every single person in San Diego. The work we do has a real impact on the daily lives of everyone in our region, and it adds an element of relevancy to my job that I appreciate.

What’s the most common misconception you think people have about working for a utility company?

The most common misconception about working for a utility company is probably the idea that utilities are boring and operate at a slow pace. That could not be further from the truth. From the innovative technology and customer programs to advanced grid operations and emergency response preparedness, working at SDG&E is never boring, and there are countless issues and initiatives handled by Media & Employee Communications that keep things moving at a fast pace on a regular basis.

Tell us how you’re ‘connected’… to our customers, to our communities or to the environment.

I stay connected to the community largely through the church I attend and the women’s bible study group that I belong to. Our group regularly organizes volunteer opportunities with organizations like the San Diego Rescue Mission.  I love the San Diego community and appreciate all of the resources and opportunities available to SDG&E employees.
