2-1-1 is the new national dialing code for free, 24/7 community, health, and disaster services information and referrals, including important energy information. Now available in San Diego County, 2-1-1 helps people link to needed services and is offered in 150 different languages.

SDG&E’s energy bill discount programs are now available to even more households than before. The income qualifications for the company’s two energy bill discount programs — CARE and FERA — increased in June.

For those living on low or fixed incomes, making improvements can be all but impossible. If your clients experience this problem, a referral to SDG&E’s Energy Team program may be just what they need to get help. And this popular program is now available for more customers as income qualifications increased in June.

Alerts available to those with health risks
Customers can choose to be notified by an automatic phone call or e-mail to give them time to prepare for an outage.

While SDG&E doesn’t expect to have any rolling blackouts this summer, sustained heat waves or other emergencies might cause the California Independent System Operator (ISO) to call for temporary power reductions.
