The CPUC, in decision (D.) 10-03-022, has adopted rules for non-residential SDG&E customers to elect Direct Access (DA) service up to a load allowance of 462 GWh over a four year period that began on April 16, 2010.
The phase-in period and the annual limits for DA load have been established as described below, unused kilowatt-hours (kWh) in one year will roll over to the next year.
Y1 (2010) 35% of the new DA load allowance or 161.7GWh
Y2 (2011) 70% of the new DA load allowance or 323.4 GWh
Y3 (2012) 90% of the new DA load allowance or 415.8 GWh
Y4 (2013) 100% of the new DA load allowance or 462 GWh
The CPUC has approved a temporary waiver of the six month notice requirement for DA eligible customers and a one time wavier of the Bundled Portfolio Service commitment required per SDG&E Rule 25.1.
