Markers indicate major pipelines near you. Markers purposely indicate only the general, not exact, location of buried pipelines. Markers also do not indicate the depth or number of pipelines in the area.

In order to provide safe and reliable electric service, and to comply with State mandated regulations, SDG&E regularly inspects facilities for encroaching vegetation.
The guidelines below describe the minimum clearances required between vegetation and electrical equipment. To maintain compliance with state law, SDG&E maintains clearances that exceed the minimum distance required.
Enacted in 1997, made effective January 1, 1998, General Order (GO) 165. This order, 165, Appendix A, establishes minimum requirements for electric distribution facilities regarding:
Inspection (including maximum allowable inspection cycle length,) condition rating.
Scheduling and performance of corrective action.
Recordkeeping and reporting in order to ensure safe and high-quality electrical service.
The purpose of GO 128, in effect since 1967, is to formulate uniform requirements for underground electrical supply and communication systems to provide adequate service and secure safety to all persons engaged in the construction, maintenance, operation or use of underground systems, as well as to the general public. Like GO 95, GO 128 sets both construction and maintenance standards. (See § 12.2.)
