In collaboration with the Unified Port of San Diego and the City of San Diego, SDG&E and Nakao International C&E have begun testing a vertical-axis wind-turbine, the first of its kind in the U.S., at Harbor Island Park near Harbor Drive.
This 30 foot tall wind turbine will be capable of producing up to two kilowatts of power, which will help supply power to the City of San Diego’s sewage pumping system.

The New Solar Homes Partnership
As part of the California Solar Initiative, the NSHP provides financial incentives and other support to home builders, encouraging the construction of new, energy efficient solar homes. SDG&E is the administrator of the NSHP in our service territory.
