Savings By Design is California’s energy-efficiency program for non-residential new construction and renovation/remodeling projects.

How We're Funded

This program is funded by California utility customers and is administered by the following companies.

  • Pacific Gas and Electric Company
  • Sacramento Municipal Utility District
  • San Diego Gas and Electric
  • Southern California Edison,
  • Southern California Gas Company

Under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.

Opportunities to Save

The Savings By Design program offers building owners and their design teams a wide range of opportunities.

  • Design assistance in the form of analysis, information and resources to help you design efficient buildings.
  • Owner incentives of up to $150,000 per project to help pay for the investment in energy-efficient buildings.
  • Design team incentives of up to $50,000 per project to reward designers who meet ambitious energy-efficiency targets.
