Overview - NEM Cap

*SDG&E is at 1.41% of its Net Energy Metering Cap as of March 31, 2013

Once the Cap has been reached, Schedule NEM may be closed to new customers.

Formula for current percent of cap

Current Installed Cap (MW)
SDG&E Cap (MW)

x 100%

= Current percent of max cap

Calculation:

   170.7 MW
606.7 MW

x 100%

= 28.1%

Remaining NEM allotment of max cap: 606.7 - 170.7 = 436 MW

5.0% of Cap X 28.1% = 1.41%*

*SDG&E is at 1.41% as of March 31, 2013

  • Cap Formula: (Current SDG&E Cap – 5.0%) x 12,134.2 MW = 606.7 MW

  • Installed PV Capacity Through March 31, 2013: 170.7 MW

  • Available Capacity Under the Cap: Cap – Installed PV Capacity;

    • 606.7 MW – 170.7 MW = 436 MW

  • Percentage of MW Cap Installed:
    (Currently Installed MW / SDGE Cap) x 100% = % MW

    • Installed currently: 170.7 MW / 606.7 MW x 100% = 28.1%

  • Percentage of MW Cap Available: 100% - % Cap installed;

    • 100% - 28.1% = 71.9%

  • Percentage of 5.0% Cap Installed: 28.1% x 5.0% = 1.41%

  • Percentage of 5.0% Cap Available: 5.0% - 1.41% = 3.59%
